She has only three photos on it: lingerie photo, clean test results photo, and one of her holding Juniper as a baby because "chicks dig a softer side." Darius:

His profile is very obviously written by a very earnest person who is Not Darius but is trying to be (Xerxes, it's Xerxes). All the photos of him are either clearly cropped family photos or taken surreptitiously when Darius wasn't looking. His bio says I'm a Leo who likes long walks, lots of exercise, and needs someone to take me on adventures and help me out of my shell. I'm a bit standoffish at first but once you get to know me I'm loyal for life and will do anything to make you laugh! When Darius finds the profile he demands to know why his brother has made him sound like a dog at a rescue center.

Kai:

Her single photo is her straddling a motorcycle at some rest stop in the mountains. Her bio says Outdoorsy. Hiking. Camping. Arson. Must be comfortable with the fact that I will beat you in an arm wrestling match.

Sol:

After about five photos you start to realize that the "sub in a softcore porn shoot" impression is very much on purpose. He got blue and pink lamps for the correct lighting and everything. There's a completely random photo of him beaming with the kids he mentors at a youth center. His bio says associate professor of medieval studies, LARPer, dog lover, will court you like a tropical bird. This all obviously brings up far more questions than any of it answers.

Ryder:

This guy clearly did a whole photoshoot for this. Black and white, artsy, nice strategic poses of him against a brick wall wearing large boots with a hand on his belt and aviators. Trying to look classy but also rough and tumble (Xerxes took the photos). His bio is just some 'profound' quote like big results require big ambitions. This man oozes annoying economics bro but you fuck him anyway and are extremely mad to find out he's actually good in bed.

Xerxes:

You think this has GOT to be a catfish because this man is just too beautiful. He's got a photo with just those big brown eyes staring soulfully into the camera, one of him on the beach where you get to drool over his abs, and a couple of him at a casual family event. His bio says looking for something serious, I want someone to wine and dine, big fan of kids and pets, I love to travel! I want to build a home with someone, could it be you? Hi there my lovelies! It is a rare guest, Ria here :D

I put on an Oblivion Let's Play to hold my blood pressure low while formulating this announcement, so you better settle down with me xD

I would like to announce here how I will deal with my main blog and all my side blogs on tumblr from now on.

As most of you know, I am working a full time job in retail, so my nervous costume tends to be a tiny bit thin after around 9,5hrs of shift. I am happy to announce to you all that my time as a worker in retail is finally a finite one. If everything works out right, I won't just be able to start a homeoffice job by next year, but also live at a completely different place and city. Sadly there is still a good while of wait ahead of me until then and a lot of things are unsure as of yet. But I will do my best to get to that destination, because right now everything is pretty much murdering me.

What does that mean for my blogs? I have been on Hiatus for a long while, on and off, over years. And yet I have always returned here, more or less satisfied or happy with my performance or the RPC.

From this day on I will treat myself better about being able to come here and also, I will not spread myself thin anymore. I will transform Mariku into an Ask- and Art-Blog. Interactions are always welcome, on and off Anon, as well as dash commentary or writing pieces and updates of myself. You can tag Mariku and me in everything, the followed tags will stay the same, I will just update a few things on my BIO in the next days etc. [maybe I'll finally force myself to make a card, should the mobile pages not work anymore].

What got you into the Mario fandom? And also!! Your bio says your a fan of TMNT, but which version do you like the most? The 2003 and 2012 version are pretty nostalgic to me, but I loved the 2012 one the most, their designs are personally my most favorite! ROTTMNT I know is a really good one; I started binging it last summer but never got around to finishing it :(

Okay, storytime it is! (This is most definitely going to be my longest answer to date; hope you don't mind).

Let me give you some background first. Unlike most people I didn't get into gaming as a little kid. My household was basically video game-free - my father wasn't into gaming, neither was my older sister and my mother was even somewhat against video games. Under these circumstances the first video game I ever played was the Sims, as my sister had a short-lived phase when she liked it. I found it incredibly boring. Sometimes I'd watch my cousins or friends play other games when I visited, but they'd never let me play xD Still, that made me realize that I enjoyed (=wanted to try) racing and action/adventure games.

At one point, when I was a little older, my still humble gaming experience led me to finally playing my first Mario game: Mario Kart. I look back at that experience fondly as I also won against my friend at the time on my first try. He wasn't particularly great at gaming either but hey, a win is a win.

Anyway, I got curious about these characters and started searching for more info, and for more games to try out. I finally got to the Super Mario Bros. series, discovering my love of 2D platformers along the way. There's a retro gaming museum in my area where you can play on old computers and systems so you bet I spent some time there playing the oldest of Mario games, which was a big step in me getting into this genre as a whole and this series in particular.

I also tend to gravitate towards brothers in media and well, Mario and Luigi are obviously brothers so I guess I got curious about their relationship and how it plays into the lore of the games. Which brought me to the Mario & Luigi RPGs, which I loved. I guess you could say I got Hooked On The Brothers™ But honestly, the carefree and fun atmosphere as well as the sort of wacky fairy tale setting were very appealing to me too.

I started slowly but surely collecting whatever Nintendo game consoles and games I could find and afford, and watching playthroughs of those I couldn't. I even played a couple fan games, such as (Mario) The Music Box - despite it being so very different from the source material LOL

And of course, the 2023 movie got me to appreciate the franchise even more and be more active in the fandom, reading more fanfics etc. Which eventually brought me here. I started reading Luigi's Escape Plan by jelly-fish-wishes and some other comics on Tumblr and the site tried to force me to register so often that I eventually gave in, annoyed. I definitely don't regret that decision though!

And look at me now, creating my own content - well, only fanart really - for this lovely fandom. And interacting more and more with other fans.

Now for the Turtles. I've been a fan since I was like 11 and first started watching the 2003 series (only the first 3 seasons were available in my country at the time, but a few years later I found the rest on YouTube). I've watched all versions other than the 1987 series and Michael Bay movies, and read some of the comics (I really love the original Mirage comics!), yet that first series still remains my favorite. My favorite animated show of all time even. You could chalk it up to nostalgia, but it's definitely more than that as nostalgia is rarely a big factor for me when it comes to genuinely enjoying things. I just really like this version of all of the major characters the most, as well as the humor, the dialogue and the action scenes (those fight choreographies were amazing tbh), and the plot overall. As well as the art style in the first 5 seasons. Sure, the show wasn't perfect due to the frequent animation mistakes and the painfully bad Japanese (the fake kanji were bad enough but the horrible pronunciation, man... the pronunciation...), but everything else more than makes up for it.

In case you're curious, overall I did enjoy the 2012 series too. Really, I enjoyed most of the Turtle media. Tbh I have a bit of a weird love-hate relationship with RotTMNT though.

And last but not least, thank you so much for your kind words! It's so interesting that some people here praise my style while it was something my old professor criticized as too generic in my digital art and animation when I was applying to college. And people like you saying I pay a lot of attention to detail when my art teachers and professors criticized me for going too abstract in my paintings and not precise enough in my drawings. It's been healing some of these old art related insecurities stashed away somewhere in my brain, ngl.

I totally get your struggle with perfectionism. It's my old frenemy that to this day rears its ugly head more often than I care to admit, especially when it comes to art. It's important to relax and do your thing anyway. I'm sure you'll make some sick animations and I'll be here cheering you on along the way. You got this, girl!

I don't normally think much about voiceclaims, honestly! I've mentioned Dara Reneé as a possible faceclaim for Katherine, and I do usually double-up on voiceclaims with the faceclaim (since that's usually a fair bet for choosing a voice that "fits" their appearance) - I do see Dara Reneé's voice as a pretty good match for Katherine's in tone, but she'd have to put on a Southern accent!

4) What song describes your OC and their partner/love interest?

I mean... her whole fic is titled from the lyrics of Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen, and that was definitely meant to fit her and Ahk! And Rami Malek joke aside, I do feel like most of Queen's love songs fit them well (Love of My Life, You Take My Breath Away, etc.)

7) Vice-Versa! If your OC is in the modern day, what fantasy class would they be? Would they be a different race?

CLERIC!! I mean, she's basically a cleric already, even in the modern world, so you just KNOW she'd be a cleric to Bastet (or whatever the fantasy-fiction equivalent to Bastet would be)

As for a different race... no, I don't think so. I think she'd be best just to stick with being a human, though it could kinda be funny to have a running joke where the other members in her party joke about her being half-dwarf because of her height (don't worry, she'd absolutely find some way to get them back XD)

27) What's their spirit tamagotchi? Or an animal you associate them with?

I mean, the obvious answer would be cats, namely for her connection with Bastet, but that does fit Katherine very well (almost like it's by design... lol).

Outside of that, I could also see her as something like a spotted genet, raccoon, or marbled polecat - something small and cute but deceptively capable, and not entirely dissimilar to a cat (not in terms of biology, just mental association).

Ooooooh, I know it's not a plant but I really see Vivienne as fire coral!

Just these beautiful, branching aquatic forms, but with a hidden venom that's incredibly painful and dangerous!

But in terms of actual flowers, I'm going to go with sundew!

Similar story here: a very outwardly beautiful, unique, enchanting form, but secretly carnivorous! I feel like that's a good metaphor for being a siren :D

29) Imagine a mood board for your OC! What's on it? (Make it if you want!)

Oooooh so first things first, @negative-speedforce actually made me a moodboard for Vivienne and it is GORGEOUS!! It's on display here in her OC bio!

I really do love that misty, Gothic atmosphere in the moodboard, especially with the indistinct silhouettes that come from deep water or oceanic fog. That fits Vivienne SO well, and really matches the tone of the fics I've written for it!!

I do think it could be cool, if a second moodboard were to be made, to take things in a more colorful direction. Bright fish scales (betta fish baby!! Vivienne's inspo!!) and coral reefs, but also some more mundane or "human" things like rows of pastries from a bakery or formal dresses from the late 19th century, even something that represents oral storytelling (though I'm not sure what that would be). It would be neat to have this moodboard be bright and vibrant as a contrast to the Gothic moodboard I already have for her, and I think it would especially capture that dichotomy in Vivienne's character - not only land and sea, but the contrast between her behavior as a living sea storm/omen of danger and her behavior as an energetic and fun-loving storyteller.

Heya! I would say 'tired' is probably the main way I feel today xD I’ve been staying up until 4am again recently and forcing myself up again at 8:30am trying to make up for lost time on the jam that I’m currently taking part in with Lazy Polar Bear x3 (otome/josei jam)

We even tried our best to plan some stuff in advance so that we could have a chilled-out jam for once, but the world had other plans it seems, haha. We've both been hit by a fair bit of bad luck, so I’m pushing myself in the hope we’ll still be able to release a demo in time for the end of the jam. Energy drinks are very much my friend atm x3

I’m so sorry it’s taken me forever to answer anyhow! I’m still majorly behind on pretty much everything >.< so most of my replies are at snail speed, haha. It doesn’t help that my PC died at the end of April, and trying to get a new one has been a nightmare :( 

I knew it was on its way out for a while, so I’d been saving up + making sure to regularly backup data (thankfully, I don’t think I lost too much!) Managed to scrape together enough to get a new one, but when it was delivered, something was wrong with it >.< The first time I powered it on, there was a super loud scraping sound from a fan or something, and it threw up some BIOS error stuff instead of booting Windows.

I contacted the company, and they arranged to collect it & rebuild it for me, which took a while to do. Just had the rebuilt one delivered this week, but there’s still something not quite right about it :( It takes over 1 minute to boot up from pressing to power on (for reference, my PC that died was over 10 years old and booted up in about 10 seconds!) The 4th time I powered the new one on, it lit up inside, but never displayed anything. I gave it 5 minutes, but still nothing, so had to hit the reset button on the case.

Aaaand, one of the hard drives scans show it’s temperature is 68 degrees while the PC is idle, which doesn’t seem good >.< Neither does how hot the processor and graphics cards are showing on temperature readings when idle. As far as I can tell though, all the fans are working fine! 

Still in contact with support trying to find out what is going on :( Which is not what I need while trying to work on a jam project, haha.

Anyways, I’m so sorry for the giant ramble there!! To actually answer your question x3 I don’t think I’ve been asked it that much actually! Maybe only like once or twice :3 The first couple of VNs I made were made with Tyranobuilder cos that was the first thing I came across that seemed easy to use, and it was :D I did try Ren’Py first, but after completing a few tutorials and making a demo project, I hated having to do code stuff so much that I knew it would make me not want to make a full game if that was how I had to do it >.<

I got Tyranobuilder in a Humble Bundle years ago, and it claimed you could make VNs from scratch without writing a single line of code because it used a drag & drop system, so I figured I’d give it a shot! It definitely did what it said on the tin :3 I made my first-ever game with it (Solipsism Reigns) + another one after that (Impostor) before switching to something else. (well, there was also the CiQ demo too, but that's irrelevant now that the game is being made in Nani!)

I think I read a couple of basic tutorials for Tyrano, but it was honestly all really easy to get going with by just poking around in there and seeing what did what, haha.

Besides those first couple of games, everything else I’ve made has been using Naninovel in Unity. I’d say Nani took longer to get started with, but the tutorials are vast and very detailed, so that was a big help. I also managed to get it while it was on sale, so that was a relief since it’s quite expensive full price.

I switched for a couple of reasons. One being that the drag & drop system in Tyrano was fantastic for a beginner like me, but also quite slow, so once I’d grown a bit more confident with how things worked, I figured something like Naninovel with an easy-to-understand scripting language would probably allow me to work faster!

The other big reason was because of how buggy Tyrano seemed to be >.< There were a lot of issues in it that didn’t seem to be having fixes worked on by the software devs at the time (I believe they have since updated it though!) And it was just frustrating to discover there was the odd bug in my game that I couldn’t fix because it was caused by something in the software itself that I hadn’t even touched.

I’ve stuck with Naninovel because it’s definitely easy to use, has a tonne of brilliant guides, and the support on Discord has always been exceptional whenever I’ve needed help on how to do something :3 There’s still a lot about it that I don’t know how to use or little gripes I have with it here and there, but overall, I do prefer it to Tyrano. Nothing is ever gonna be perfect.

It does make collaborating difficult sometimes though because Ren’Py is still the most commonly used tool for making VNs I guess. So if you want to work with people to do code and stuff, and 1 only has knowledge of Ren’Py while the other only has knowledge of Nani’s scripting language and what Nani can do, it’s like you’re speaking two completely different languages when it comes to trying to understand each other x3

If I didn’t have to write code, I would probably use Ren’Py xD It’s just, while I still dislike having to type thousands of lines of Naniscript, I find it at least manageable without getting the world’s biggest headache, haha.

I’m glad that you think the stuff I make turns out cool though! :3 That means a lot ^-^ I always kinda feel like an impostor when it comes to everything I do in game dev just cos I never had any proper training or education >.< I guess a lot of VN devs are probably self-taught though! It is fun to figure things out yourself by trial and error, but I’m sure I must be doing heaps of stuff wrong xD or at least in ways that aren’t exactly the most efficient x3 I muddle through though :D

Hello! Welcome to the Hedgehog Headspace!

We are a undiagnosed, most likely traumagenic plural system! We consist of three known members (at this time), who I will speak about more under the cut! But before that, my dni :3

We are bodily a minor

We most likely are not endogenic, but we support endos! We are also undiagnosed so there is a chance we are endogenic, but we won't guess yet.

as to how i art: i just kinda *do*. i got a tablet 2016 and started using medibang (and have been since), but before then id been stubbornly drawing with a mouse. (phones/actual tablets work p good too), im the type to learn by doing, so i dont quite have any tutorials.

main tip for art: just draw anyway. my art only ever improves when im drawing constantly, and thats true for every artist i know.

Khaori’s witch looks like this. Its nature is evasive. The witch resembles an eel skeleton that hides in her labyrinth, her familiars are other sea creatures such as crabs and goldfish with human legs. They collect possessions of emotional importance from in and out side of the labyrinth and bring them back to decorate the hermit shell the main witch hides in. The main witch’s mouth looks like a stump of a severed limb pouring out a dark red photo developing acid. The angler fish bulb suspended over its head flash bangs any suspected danger, allowing the witch to get away, and prints a photo thru the mouth side of the two holes on either side of its head. One side has a mouth with teeth around a eye shaped hole, the other side with eyelashes you can see thru to the brain floating in the acid. Sorry these are just uncolored sketches! These are the only ones I’m happy with LOL.

Asami’s witch looks like this. Its nature is to endure. Fueled by a firey rage it uses its massive arms to climb around its labyrinth, which looks like a toy town where all the buildings are seashells and a couple skyscrapers here and there. The skyscrapers have large pegs or weapons plunged into them that the witch herself climbs on. The sky is a blanket of clouds with silver lining and droplets of gold and silver and glass are suspended on chains like rain. The witch herself has an aggressive nature despite her small size, and can stretch like an accordion. The roots coming from the body can also reach and attack/climb like tendrils. Its familiars are toy mice with different flowers instead of eyes and wheat for fur. These familiars search for a way out of the labyrinth but can never find one, only leading around their witch to taller and taller skyscrapers. I apologize that these are also uncolored.

Oh boy I don’t want make this too long so here’s an image of Mitsu and Jundo but I won’t get into their stories n stuff. It’s complicated. All you need to know is that they’re in gay love <3 No witch concepts yet. Mitsu on the left, Jundo on the right.

Haru I’ve got very little on her that’s solid. She’s the youngest magi I have, contacted at 8/9 and currently 12, a veteran who’s every “party” she’s been a part of died. She has the ability to fly and scouts, but because she’s especially young others prioritize her safety, even when they are more at risk. No witch design yet.

Bluebell I made like forever ago for a contest, she is based on the legend of Bluebeard. Image ID for the photo in the Alt Text.

A very brief summary of her character is that she’s kind of a merge of Bluebeard and the 7th wife in a twisted bad way. She’s like a Kira deathnote type, who kills people she believes to be evil. Her wish was to know her boyfriends deepest secret, and upon learning he was a serial killer she killed him and starts using her power to kill other criminals, becoming the serial killer. Her morals quickly deteriorate and she becomes extremely judgmental, looking into people heads and taking their intrusive thoughts or any secrets they have and deciding if they should be punished or not. Because she spent her time enacting her “judgment”, detrimental to her magic and her mental health, she witchifies. Her witch is a gargoyle, a guard of nasty secrets. Some of its familiars are gossipers (similar to the uwasa spreaders in magireco) who follow rumors and upon finding someone with a nasty secret brings the other familiars, knights that bring anyone from inside or outside the labyrinth to the witch for their judgement. If they are judged unworthy by the gaze of the gargoyle they are impaled on the layers of fences and gates that guard the witch to set an “example”. I have no image of Bluebell as a magical girl that I am solid on soooo. Yeah. Just have the witch.. made yrs ago and also needs an update..

I don’t have a ton of info on her witch, but it’s familiars are like Mario style piranha plants and Venus fly traps with actual teeth l, fangs and molars, whose mouths are shut by belts, general dangerous plants you would find in a jungle, corpse flowers and pitcher plants, as well as monstress flies of varying sizes and mutation. The labyrinth is like a overgrown greenhouse with massive jungle plants.

I’ll admit I was scared to talk to you, but it was less a factor of you being scary and more just I was afraid I’d get rejected. Publicly. Why? I have no idea, but the fear was real XD

You probably already do this, but my advice:

Ignore them. Delete asks that make you uncomfortable. Write in your bio that you will not answer political asks, or any asks that make you uncomfortable or upset. You’re here to have fun, people have NO business coming to you with their crap. They should be asking their close, irl friends. Not strangers on the internet who they don’t know. This is YOUR blog, this is YOUR good time. We all enjoy fandoms differently, and this blog allows you to share the way you enjoy the fandom. If people have issues with that, then they’re not molding their personal dashboard and blog to fit their interests, they’re trying to mold everyone else’s blogs and dashboards to fit their interests. And that isn’t how this works. Ignore the haters, and the idiots who send you weird asks. Do what makes you comfortable, do what you consider fun. If that’s taking a step back for awhile, do that. If that’s turning off asks/anons, do that. If that’s leaving the fandom/website to enjoy it privately, do it. Whatever it is, you have better things to be putting your time and energy into than an unappreciative and stressful fandom.

Seriously, the audacity people have these days. It’s one things when people ask for asks like that, but it’s another when you’re just a blog in a random fandom posting fan fiction. It’s got no place here, where you didn’t ask for it, where you don’t want it, where it literally has no effect on the asker’s life. If that hurts their feelings, boo hoo. They need to get a grip and reevaluate themselves because clearly they don’t know what’s happening if they’re so insecure in their argument that they need an internet stranger’s opinions.

Hey there, this is re for anon who wrote about AA and RB's terfines. I'm glad somebody finally brought this up here. I'm honestly convinced you're giving Rachel too much benefit of the doubt and many of Martin's fans have been doing so for a while, so many of them very vocally supporters of trans people and some are trans themselves and seem to ignore Rachel's 'leanings' towards that.

Rachel seems to be, or at least was until the most recent deletion of her IG account, arguably very non bothered by presenting as 'gender critical'. In addition to the 'rumors' about her likes on Twitter (they weren't rumors - I was around before she cleared her tracks on Twitter and they were *blatant*. I'm trying to remember who had screenshots) , up until a few weeks ago she was following, for at least a year and even longer, accounts by terf "thought leaders" and reporters like Debra W. Soh (she no longer does, but she did a few weeks ago), Katie Herzog (still on her follow list) and AT LEAST another two French female 'gender critical' journalists whose names I don't remember but were very clearly and loudly TERF to the point of putting it in their bios. I would look every once in a while to see if she unfollowed them or not over the last year or so, because I imagined she might want to at least pretend she doesn't condone these accounts in any way. As I said, she removed all follows but the Katie Herzog one just in the most recent deletion. Which suddenly makes sense to me with all those recent different postings since she reopened the account. They're different from the older posts and it feels like she's gearing up or aiming for a different kind of attention, maybe she's hoping for modeling or acting roles. It's definitely a 'scrubbed' account this time. A feature film she wrote finished production so maybe she had actual PR remove her follow list and remove Debra Soh and the French journalists. I don't see a point saying 'she's still young'. She's in her 30s (was in her late 20s back then) and doesn't come off as stupid or not socially unaware, I'm sure she's aware that terf discourse is problematic. Maybe she honestly doesn't care. Doesn't bode well for Martin's opinions in that sense, which is why I've been distant from MF's fandom for a while, especially the 'forgiving' Rachel discourse. She comes of as far more problematic than we even realize. She's his partner and he's welcome to it, I'm convinced he's aware and doesn't care - but I do.

You see, this here ↑ is the reason why I was a bit reluctant to answer yesterday's post, why I didn't tag it. Because I knew it would attract more of ... this. I've thought long and hard about what I would write and if I even should answer at all. But you certainly made an effort and deserve an answer.

Clearly, transphobia is a huge problem and should never be ignored. That much I know. You clearly know much more about the topic. I honestly don't know any of the names you stated above. But then again, it's also not my agenda to unmask every terf on this planet. If that is yours- great. Everybody needs a purpose in life. 😉 But I don't have the time or the energy or the wish to check who follows who on twitter /Instagram and who likes what. That's not what I do and that's not something you will find on this blog.

And yes, I do give Rachel the benefit of the doubt. Does that make me naive and possibly even ignorant? Maybe. But I am also not a fan of Rachel- I am fan of Martin (which should be quite obvious xD). And Rachel happens to be a part of Martin's life. But like I wrote yesterday: people are not defined by their partner's opinion.

I got 93% which I was over the moon for!!! I really thought it would be as low as 20-30% as much as I would’ve loved for it to be higher. I just didn’t think there would be a good chance because I remember once there was a question for the brothers about their type. I know it’s silly to stick to those responses, but I know I’m not the ‘intelligent’ type. It’s really hard to convince myself I am when I look at my grades, even in chem- the subject I claim to love so much. I appreciate art with techniques and various medium artists use, but that’s it. I’m not creative enough to be able to analyse art and literature in a meaningful manner. I admit, it’s all stupid when I say it out loud though. So tdlr: I was genuinely shocked with that high percentage of compatibility with mine (ISFJ) and Satan’s personality type. Honestly though, I am skeptical of the website, because my lowest % was with Solomon- 84%. When I looked up the worst possible matches for ISFJ, ENTP showed up, which is what Sol is… then I calmed myself down remembering that all this is not really a big deal, but a fun little thing to do! (As you can clearly see me overthinking about silly things when I should be using this brain power to get my assignments and papers done XD)

It’s really cool that you’re a biology major!! You have my complete and utter respect for being able to work with it! I love bio, but only when it comes to certain topics, like metabolism, genetics and just molecular biology in general! Then again, my chem bias is definitely showing XD But I do want to get a bachelors in chem! I am just scared of the research and analysis parts, since I have to improve A LOT… Since I am doing IB diploma currently, I attend a course called Theory of Knowledge which explores how and why do we know the things we do. ToK has different catagories- one of them being natural sciences. I was devastated to know what scientists and researchers need to be doing today just to be seen for their work… So my main reason for despising business and corporations did not even matter when people in the science reseach fields have ulterior motives to get ahead too… tdlr: I admire you for being able to research and possibly name the bacteriophage you’re examining!!

Also, it is scary and exciting to be using such expensive equipment!! I mean I always feel extremely nervous when handling these tools!!! Although, up until now I can proudly say I have not ruined any volumetric pipettes (and those automatic pipettes where you can set a voloume and it’ll mainain the same volume everytime you need it! I’ve had the pleasure of using them for my assays so far, and it was both good and scary while it lasted!), burettes, sensors, colourimeters, microscopes, spectrophotometers, and temperature boxes! But my goodness the fear and almost heartattacks I used to feel when using them and when something wasn’t working for a few minutes… but if I want to choose my career path in relation to working in chem labs, I should be getting used to this I suppose… I still have two mini papers to write in bio and chem, so I will have to be using any of those equipment some time in future. I have had a good track record, and I hope to keep it clean XD.

sorry it took me a hot minute to get back to you! been on my schoolwork grind and all my posts from the past week as been scheduled since like, last Saturday haha.

for a while there I actually contemplated reducing my posting schedule but so far so good! I just get everything done on Saturday and Sunday, and queue it up for the week. sometimes I don’t open tumblr up for a few days at a time because I know I’m all set! i'm actually also setting up my ao3 rn ! finally got that confirmation email and i'm going to transfer all of my oneshots, drabbles, and spellbound secrets over at some point. still trying to understand how it functions tbh

yeah I thought that website was a little sketch too haha. 84 is still pretty high. I think the lowest I got was with Satan? Apparently INTJ and INTJ isn’t a great pairing. On the other hand though, I think I got a 99 with solomon? Something like that. maybe that's why my first fic was about him and not my og babygirl LOL. I also totally understand that feeling you have. In peer leading I am always the slowest and fear the day I have to explain a problem to the group haha. People think I know what I’m doing when I’m reality, I’m literally just as lost! maybe I just look studious haha

using the fancy equipment is lowkey scary, but i still very much enjoy it. in my lab, we only use the volumatic pipettes for now, and honestly, i'm alright with that. easier for me not to mess up haha. one time i thought i broke a serological pipette when really i just forgot to squeeze the little ball at the end to give it the power it needed LOL (I just googled it and only the tips are popping up on google... so maybe that's not what it's actually called and that's just what my professor calls it?? no clue). i just collected the samples that might contain my phage. for fun, i took the dog with me and we ended up having to wade in a disgusting stream to get to where i wanted to sample collect. i could've put her back in the car, but she wanted to stay with me and i would feel bad anyways. had to keep reminding her we were there for science, not for sniffing random spots intensely or barking at bikers minding their business. she does not like water, but she did it for me haha. unfortunately for her, she did have to get a bath after that. i really hope that was worth it, and since it was gross here's to hoping there's actually phage in there

good luck with your papers! i believe in you!! you should've mentioned you were going for IB! girl idk how you're doing that, that seems so brutal. i did cambridge, and while it was rough, it wasn't definitely not nearly as rough as IB. i had friends in IB who seemed so miserable, and it made what i was doing look like fun.
